Start by knitting into the front of the stitch by entering the stitch from the left side if the stitch and proceed until you are to slip the stitch of the needle, BUT DON'T SLIP IT OFF! Then enter the back of the stitch in the needle and proceed until you have to slip that stitch off and slip it off...you've now got two stitches where there was one. Then do the same thing in the next stitch.
