Probably in January, when I went out for my anniversary dinner. I like the way nylons look, actually. When I wear skirts, I usually wear nylons.
I also would say women are welcome to wear pant suits, not just skirts, to be formal, and would be very skeptical of some good ol' boy office were the "girls" (as I'm sure they'd call them) were absolutely required to be in skirts and stockings. If I'm going casual, or it's exceptionally warm, I'll do bare-legged, but like I said, I think nylons look nice. I also pay more to get my nylons at a department store, since the grocery store ones snag the first time you wear them, and I like my nylons dark (i.e.
Thick).
I understand about women not wearing them if they wear pants. But to not wear them with a dress or skirt doesn't look good. Especially in a business environment, bare legs are out of place.
Any woman's legs look better with nylons. When I see a woman with a dress/skirt and bare legs, I figure she doesn't care about her appearance. The fact that many women here said they haven't worn a dress/skirt in years is another issue that should be addressed.
Are most of the women here, tomboys? It seems as if many of them only wear a dress/skirt if they have to. That's sad and quite unfeminine.
Whenever I see a female on a constant basis and she never wears a dress/skirt, I figure she doesn't shave her legs.
I wore pantyhose on October 31st for my daughters wedding. It was the first time in many years, but I think they did make my legs look nicer for the occasion.
What a funny question. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I wore them. Since I work from home, I have no work reasons to wear the things.
When I go to family functions, there is precious little that would compel me to put them on as we are a fairly casual family. I might have for a friends wedding that was supposed to be this weekend but she caught him in some "sexting" lies and called it off. So, she dodged a bullet and I don't have to put on nylons.
Even if I wear pants, I usually go for dress socks rather than nylons (knee-hi's) because I rarely wear the kind of shoes that require nylons. I suspect, like you mentioned, that the change in work environments and the attitudes about attire have caused a shift in attitudes and sales for nylons. I'm pretty happy about it but I bet the nylon companies aren't.
In the past 3 years I have only worn pantyhose at two formal affairs and perhaps three formal business meetings with clients. Aside from that I cannot recall another instance. If we backtrack further, I can feel comfortable in making the statement that I have only worn pantyhose less than two dozen times my entire life!
I cannot imagine how terrible it must be, or must have been, to wear them everyday. Like anything, I suppose you can get used to it, but I prefer my slacks and being bare legged.
When I wear a dress I wear pantyhose but I hardly ever wear a dress. The last time was when my husband's grandma died and I went to the funeral. That was I would say 2 or 3 years ago.
I used to belong to this nylon of the month type thing LOL where you got nylons sent to you every month so I have several new pairs that I will probably never wear.
Wow I didn't realize how little woman are wearing nylons anymore. Since I haven't been in an office workplace for over 12 years, I haven't worn them for that long or maybe even longer. When I worked outside the home, I wore slacks almost all the time and I only wore nylon knee highs if it was summer time and I wanted to wear sandals. It just looked more professional with nylons than just bare feet.
:-).
A long time ago. The natural look seems to be in. I am glad I hated wearing panty hose, what a pain!
I wear the thigh highs if I'm wearing a dress that isn't ankle length but I rarely wear dresses and even more rarely wear shorter dresses. The last time I wore my single pair of thigh-highs was.. uh.. a wedding 2 years ago lol.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
