Let's say I wanted to start a blog that is easy to share with others and is easy to sign up with.Where should I go?

I've used Blogger and Wordpress, and Blogger definitely has the best overall features. You can find literally thousands of free templates for Blogger, so you can make it look anyway you want. It is easy to understand, and if you eventually get a domain name, you can map your domain on Blogger for free, as opposed to Wordpress.Com, which charges you to map your domain.

Also, if you ever want to get server space and put up a Wordpress blog, there are handy free sites online where you can convert your Blogger to Wordpress, and save it for uploading to your webspace. Overall, Blogger is the most loaded with free features, and the best free blog platform out there. One warning, however.

Blogger is owned by Google, and they save everything you put on their servers for 75 years and have stated that they will give anything to the government if asked, without a warrant, so if you don't want your personal stuff around after your kids are dead and gone, or you're saying something you don't want the government to know, best to go with another platform.

Posterous is no muss, no fuss blogging and it a great way to start blogging because it takes care of all the skut work. And lets you concentrate on the writing and not fiddling with formatting. You can even post by sending an email to your blog.

I think blogger is simple and offers me options like you mentioned. I have a blog there and I love it. Simple to use and able to customize my fonts and bring in pictures to show.

I've used blogger and wordpress. I liked the greater variety of options I got with word press. You could add more fun features and had more templates (looks) to choose from.It's free and it's free for your friends to read it.

The only downfall is that you cannot put your own ads into it aka: you cannot make money from your blog. Blogger you can get a google adsense account and make some money. Another blog program that seems to becoming popular is tumblr.

I have not personally used this one but I know several musicians and writers which do use it and love it. It's also free for you and for your readers. I do not know if you can use a google adsense account with these blogs.

Most sharing applications can be used on various blogging platforms. For example, one of the useful applications for sharing is AddThis: addthis.com/features It can work on Blogger, Wordpress, TypePad, Tumblr, Joomla, Drupal etc.. It can share out your posts through 200+ channels. You don’t have to choose a blogging platform based on its sharing abilities as there are mostly comparable.

You may need to choose a blogging platform based on format/appearance of your posts and other aspects. Blogger is very basic and simple. Wordpress has many useful plug-ins.

Tumblr is very useful if your posts are multimedia with pictures, videos, texts etc… My blogs are on Blogger (chosen more on its simplicity when I’m new to blogging), with AddThis to enable sharing on 200+ channels; also feed to my Twitter.. I didn’t switch yet as I’m more of a casual blogger though there are some more powerful blogging platforms.

One word: TUMBLR This gives you the BEST microblogging experience in the entire world. I have been using it for a two months now, and it's extremely addicting. It works similar to twitter, because other bloggers can follow you and you can follow them.

Your followers will be able to see your updates on their dashboard every time you post something. So, your posts will always be seen by someone. Unlike blogger, where amost of the time you have to wait for someone to find you through a search engine.

You can post pictures, text, quotes and videos. All in a very clean environment, almost like Wordpress. They provide you with templates, so all you have to do is choose one and start blogging.

You can also link your blog to Facebook. Apart from that, you can also reblog other's posts and mark the ones you like. Also, every month tumblr sets up fun ways to measure stats.

Last month we had "tumblarity" which showed how popular you were according to how much you participated on tumblr. This month we have tumblr crushes, which show your most favorite blogs. It's basically a blogging community where everyone can share anything on their mind with others and make friends while doing it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
