I don't think there is even a fringe racist element in the Tea Party. I would guess there are more racists in just about any other organization. There can't be any organization that large without a few individual racists though.
That would be impossible.
No I don't. All large organizations have racist fringe elements. There are plenty of organizations out there that are blatantly racist (KKK, Black Panthers).
However, those organizations who are not inherently racist need to step up, and say those elements are not acceptable. Instead of bitching about how everyone is calling them racist, they need to make it clear to their members that it is unacceptable. If those racist elements show up with racist signs, ask them to leave.
If someone starts shouting out racist epithets, then remove them. Put out a press release that says racist behavior is unacceptable and then back it up with action. I don't think it is difficult.
Instead of complaining about how those "dirty libs" are out to get us, focus on disproving them with action and stop whining about it. Actions speak louder than words, prove them wrong with action. Instead of loudly proclaiming that you aren't racist, just quietly show that it isn't acceptable within the Tea Party.
"Speak softly, and carry a big stick." --President Theodore Roosevelt in a letter to Henry L. Sprague, on January 26th 1900.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
