1. The Internet, for many reasons. It puts the power of Gutenberg's press in a package as small as a smartphone.
2. Modern antibiotics. Hundreds of millions of postponed deaths.
3. The Pill. Hundreds of millions of non-violently avoided births, and the enabler of the sexual revolution.
4. Containerization. Without the global standardization of shipping containers, international commerce wouldn't exist as it does today.
5. The digital camera and camcorder. It turns us all into potential producers of pornography.
Well the first that's at the top of the list is the Internet. It changed the way commerce works as well as advertising, sales, research, etc.
Next is the PC itself. It changed how we all work.
Digital cameras come to mind as the next in this list. Together with PCs this technology allows modifying and improving photos for publication or other use.
The GPS has changed how people get around. No longer an excuse for getting lost.
The fifth item is the cell phone. I can't imagine how I ever survived in the days without them.
There you have it. The top five. We live in an interesting time as all these innovations came about in my lifetime.
I didn't even go back 200 years to list these five.
Well it's really hard to say. Us, humans have really pushed ourselves to the limit. If I had to choose the top five it would be these.
The Car. Nearly everyone in the US has a car. Look outside, you can probably spot a couple cars.
They have changed transportation forever and will continue to. I can't imagine life without a car.
The Cellphone. If it weren't for the cellphone we'd still be living under rocks. Cellphones have changed communication in ways we cannot grasp.
Calling, text messaging, surfing the web, sending e-mail, and with the new iPhone you can now use millions of apps.
The Internet. Do I even have to explain this?
Computers. Computers are my favorite thing. I have 3 of them in my house.
These machines allow you to surf the web, browse photos, watch movies, send e-mail, do hardcore gaming, and much more.
The Television. How many of us are glued to the couch, with our eyes glued to the TV screen? Everyone!
The television has been our number 1 source for news, sports, comedy, cartoon, and LOST.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
