You are right, but I would like to point out a few things. First of all, obesity is not, in the majority of cases, a behavioral problem, but a medical and hereditary problem, for which just proper diet and exercise don't work. I happen to be one of the lucky ones.
I have managed to keep my weight in the normal range, but with a family full of morbidly obese and diabetic people, I was inclined in my younger years to do tireless research so I don't meet the safe fate as my parents and siblings and here is just a small example of what I found: gh fructose corn syrup is turning people, especially those with genes making them prone to it, into diabetics and morbidly obese people, all in the name of higher profits. Gh fructose corn syrup is cheap, but a dangerous food additive in that it plays hell with the consumer's blood sugar levels and pancreatic functions and hunger response, making a person feel hungry very soon after eating, which turns into a vicious cycle of eating all day long and growing fatter and fatter and fatter. Food manufacturers, just like all businesses in a free market economy, are in the business of making money, not producing an outstandingly safe product.
People have been brainwashed to trust the food they buy in their local grocery store is safe, but this is not entirely true, in fact it is untrue the majority of the time, rather than the other way around. Until the government recognizes this and places restrictions on those companies, this will continue to happen because really very few people know the truth they need to know to make truly healthy choices and when someone tries to bring light to the subject, the companies with something to lose make sure that person is either banned or demonized. A good example of this is Kevin Trudeau.
He went through hell trying to get his books published and still has to fight very hard to keep them from being pulled from the shelves. Want more information on this subject? Check out his books.
They are very interesting to say the least and show how the entire web works, and who all is part of that web, to keep people fat and unhealthy so as to keep the cycle of this free market economy pouring billions into the pharmaceutical and medical industries. Pharmaceutical companies, I've come to find out, are no better than the mafia. They treat symptoms, not the illness itself (even when a cure is available), so as to keep the money flowing.
Through my own research 20+ years ago, I already knew most of what I read in his books, but most people don't and the word needs to get out that he's right.
Some people do not want to take responsability. It is easier to blame it on the food labeling. I say only some people, because I know a lot of over weight people who blame themselves for the extra pounds.
Sadly a casualty of modern society, it's one of my biggest annoyances that no-one seems to take responsibility for their own actions any more. There always seems to be an excuse as to why its not their own fault. Same argument for when people want to ban books, video games, or films as they are bad for children - how about you just parent your child instead?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
