Basic plot is: everyone that has ever lived wakes up on the banks of this river. There are steep cliffs/mountains on either side of the river. There is open space between the river and the mountains.

The people group up and form communities. There are scientist, artists, doctors, etc. They build factories, dig for ore, etc.They build ships to explore the river. They build airships to try and make it over the mountains.

The Riverworld series by Philip José Farmer That's an easy one; it's the classic Riverworld series by Philip José Farmer. It consists of five novels, the first being To Your Scattered Bodies Go (1971). The rest of the books, in order, are The Fabulous Riverboat, The Dark Design, The Magic Labyrinth, and Gods of Riverworld.

There was also a collection of short stories from Riverworld by Farmer, plus a couple of shared-world collections of Riverworld stories by other authors. Oddly enough, I actually considered writing a Riverworld story myself once! The primary hero of the series was Richard Francis Burton (the explorer, not the actor).

Mark Twain also played a major role in several of the books. Many other historical characters were featured, including one of the Farmer-analogues which were often featured in PJF novels. By the way, Farmer died this February, so presumably the series is now at an end.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
