If you are merely selecting 3 random entries, then a UNION is probably the best approach.

Assuming that the table entries has another column id as its unique identifier, following query should work (not tested).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
