Digital camera, with the fastest frames per second. I don't want to wait to take next picture! I read the section on the "fastest" cameras, but concerned shutter speed.
I'm just don't want to wait for the camera to fully imprint the image onto my Kingston memory card before taking the next picture. I'll be taking photos of Chinese text in a library and want to go fast as I turn the pages. Ideally, I'd like it to be small so I can use it just for fun (not a pro photographer at all) and as cheap as possible.
Other than that, the standard 6.0 megapix is fine. I don't need anything fancy. Thanks!

The situation is too complicated for a simple answer. There are a lot of factors that influence the frames per second that a camera can take. One of the most important is the physical shutter duration of the exposure, which is something >NO CAMERA CAN ALTERSecondly, the speed of the memory card you are using.
Cards currently go up to 300x speed (45MB/sec) Using a fast card in a fast camera vastly improves the FPS of a camera. (For example, my Nikon can use servo mode continually with a 200x card. ) The two most important factors for YOU are probably focusing delay and shutter delay.
Focusing delay is how long it takes for the camera to determine where you are focusing it, and bringing the lens into focus. Generally in point and shoot cameras this is pretty quick. Shutter delay is the delay between when you press the shutter release and when the camera actually takes the photo.
This is something that used to be VERY pronounced on digital cameras, but is growing less so as the technology progresses. Canon and Sony are the two companies that seem to have the fastest shutter delay, as such I'd tend to recommend them. 2 I recently bought a sony cybershot and if I hold down the button, it keeps taking pictures ...fast... probably faster than you could turn the pages. All the pictures that I took this way (mostly by accident) turned out really sharp and clear. I got it at best buy on sale and altogether (with the memory card and case and extended warranty service) it came to less than $300.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
