Mahalo Question: Can you please help answer a few questions for a Newbie on Choosing a best Answer?

" No, you can't choose two BA. However, you can tip each answer you can think it's good enough-that's what I do. If I see two or more good answers, I select one BA and the other I tip.

But most people don't do that though, they just select one BA " If we can not choose 2 best answers, should we pick a best answer?" Yes, I think you should select one BA, be courageous and do that decision, don't place it the responsibility on others'shoulders. That's my opinion.

"If I understand correctly, we are supposed to choose a best answer within 3 days.Is that correct? " In 4 days, assuming you have an answer. If there is no answer, the question is left open until there is one."If we do not choose a best answer, I understand it is chosen for us, but how long does that take?

" If you don't choose BA, the BA is awarded to the person who has the most helpful votes. The question is left open to votes until there is a tie break.

I have set up in my profile my own topic of 'Mahalo' so that I see these types of questions, but I only see them in my profile. When someone posts a question and adds the topic of 'mahalo' it automatically pushes that question from the front page. That was because @jasoncalacanis wanted those questions to go to the 'Mahalo community' page... but how do we get there now?!

Does this dilemma make sense to anyone else? It's frustrating the bejesus outta me! Mahalo needs to add 'Mahalo' to their Popular Topics area.

I'm sorry Gina, now on to your question. It looks as though the automatic closing with multiple answers is not working? I thought that was the last implementation... that if an answer remained open with multiple answers that the highest voted one would win... right?

And a question with only one answer would remain open? Even @jasoncalacanis has some old questions still open. http://www.mahalo.com/answers/what-are-the-best-tv-series-to-catch-up-on-this-summer What are the best tv series to catch up on this summer?

August is also a hard month here at Mahalo to reach everyone. I remember it being slow last year with many members off doing vacations and getting ready for school and other things. I think that Mahalo is busy working to set up a way to sync not only Mahalo... but the sister sites into one big cohesive blob that will work as one when it comes to voting and closing questions.

I'll try to get @coreymac to chime in here and see what he knows about this. I will certainly vote it up! If I run across an old question that is still open, I'll just DM that person and ask that they close it.

I'm sure the message just slipped by during all the smaller upgrades and changes here. Those are the only things I can think of at present. And now a LOLcat picture that has nothing to do with this question...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
