Managing session timeouts in ASP.NET?

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying that calling an empty method on the webservice does not reset the session timer?

When the . Net application is calling the web service, it is the . Net web application that is the client and who owns the session.

The session of the web service is - in the best case - specific to the . Net web application, not to the user with the browser, who was the client of the Web Application.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
