Math homework- adding and subtracting fractions?

You first have to find a common denominator. The lowest common denominator for 4 and 3 is 12. So for the first number your would go 4 times 3 equals 12 to get the denominator.

Then you must also multiply 3 times 3 to keep the equation balanced. That give you 2 9/12. Now you must do the same to the 1 1/3.

So you take 3 times 4 equals 12. Now you must multiply the numerator,1, times 4 as well to keep the equation equal. Now you have 1 4/12.

Now your problem has become 2 9/12-1 4/12. First you would subtract the whole numbers. 2 minus 1 is 1.

Now you will subtract the numerators, so 9/12 minus 4/12 equals 5/12. So your final answer comes out to 1 5/12. Even though the answer was given the purpose was not to give you the answer it was to explain how you find the answer.

Hopefully this will help w the rest of your fractions homework. Good Luck.

You first put the fraction each into 1 improper one like 2 3/4(11/4) and 1 1/3(4/3),,,then you subtract, dividing with a common denominator(11/4-4/3) all over 12 then you work out and get 33-16 all over 12,then subtract the above & get 17/12,then divide and get 1 & 5/12 subtract the above & get 17/12,then divide and get 1 & 5/12.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
