Mathematicians in probability theory, let me ask you this hypothetical question?

You can pose a hypothetical question about real events/people - 'what if' qs are entirely acceptable in such cases. One example would be questions about a German invasion of Britain in WW2, which I've seen several times on this site,in this section. What doesn't belong in the History Section are hypothetical qs about, say, Harry Turtledove's counterfactual historical novels, because they are fiction.

Sorry Dave, I accidentally pressed thumbs down... My bad, I wanted to give you thumbs up.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
