Men: Do you prefer a baby girl or baby boy?

Most Muslim countries except the Oil Producing countries are poor. There is no social welfare system in any of the Muslim countries to take care of old people if they don't have sons. In Eastern cultures girls are married off and parents are alone and no one to support them in old age if they don't have any son.

For this reason people wish to have some sons also, who would bring a wife in house and will take care of them in old age. Culturally parents never want to live in the house of son-in-law and daughter. It is also considered shameful on the part of son if his parents are living with his sister or alone by themselves.

If wife of a son fights to her husband and doesn't want her in-laws in her house, she is considered a very bad woman. Most people will not want to marry daughters of such a woman who refused to take care of her husband's parents.

Its not just Muslim men that prefer having a baby boy than girl its the women as well. Most think that having a son will carry on their family name and be able to support their family when they grow to an old age but this is more of an cultural thing not anything to do with Islam.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
