If Romney longed to go fight in Viet Nam, he would have enlisted. I live in Massachusetts and I have had a preview of Romney. He did not do well at a state level and I seriously doubt that he would do any better at the national level.
He would say or agree with anything to get in the office. I won't be voting for Romney.
Bill Clinton refused to be drafted. Even though his political connections and education pretty much guaranteed him a cushy state-side job. His letter to the draft board noted that he was too important to serve as cannon fodder.
The major press treated this as if Clinton occupied the moral high ground in the debate over Nam. Fast forward to Romney and suddenly a lack of service in uniform is automatic disqualification for serving in any elected position.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
