They think because he was a Registered Republican that it means that he was Conservative. He was Liberal and not Conservative. He voted for both Kennedy and Johnson, who were both Democrats who cut a deal with him for the Civil Rights Bill.
It's easy. Dr. King had many admirable traits and deserve respect. Unlike the left-wing loons, conservatives can recognize that not everybody has to agree 100% and still be able to respect the other person.
We don't engage in black-and-white thinking, instead we respect a person who deserves respect regardless of slight differences of opinion.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
