If I understand you right, what you are missing is the timer id and then clearing it before you start a new transition.

I managed to fix it by mixing a bit of my code with yours, I understood I needed a timer...

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
