More Black heroes/role models in Hollywood movies now that we have a Black president?Seems like the white guy?

Seems like the white guy...... gets to save the planet, win the war , gets the girl and the Black guy is in prison, in a gang, stealing hubcaps or shooting hoops. Will Obama's presidency have a positive affect on Hollywood? Hope so.

An equal opportunity employer. Ever since Sidney Potier won an oscar for portraying Homer Smith in the movie "Lilies of The Field" in 1963, and thus pushing open the doors for future artists to advance, black actors have risen from menial roles to that of top billing. So in essence black actors have been given the same parts to play in movies as whites have -- whether they've been playing the role of a heavy like Denzel Washington in "American Gangter" or Morgan Freeman portraying God in "Bruce Almighty" Hollywood has been an equal opportunity employer.

As for president-elect Barack Obama -- talk about a Cinderella Man type story -- starting out as a community organizer -- and then rising to become the first African-American president of the United States, now there's a movie that should be made, and one that I would gladly pay the outrageous price they charge today at the box office. Sources: personal opinion .

Now that we've elected one who really is both African AND American, the blacks are the "power" and the whites are the oppressed but cool ones. Fight the power! Nyuck nyuck.

2 Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Danny Glover, Halle Berry all have had good leading rolls while Obama was still a community organizer.

3 Let's not forget Wesley Snipes, Whoopi Goldberg, and of course Eddie Murphy. I think your stereo type model is old. It may be time to update your gripes about America list.

4 Let's not forget Hattie McDaniel who won best supporting actress for "Gone With The Wind" in 1938, and yet was not allowed to eat at the same table with whites during the ceremony. Black actors have come a long way since then, and though it has been a struggle, they have earned every success.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
