That famous line from the movie is taken from the epic poem Paradise Lost, written by John Milton. That particular quote is found in the Revolt of Angels' section of the poem. David Patrick Kelly, actor who played T-Bird, insisted on purchasing an antique copy of the book to use as a prop during the shot.
