Here is how...I am using Vista trying to remember how but I think I have it Look for your sound settings in XP I believe this is how: Go to the Control Panel and choose Sound. Go the the Sounds tab. Scroll down for a bit until you come to Start Navigation.

Left click this once to highlight it. Now go to the sounds list below it and select None. Then click Apply..

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
