A. Currently, CSM and MSFC are independent from a failover perspective. If the MSFC in a chassis fails, the CSM in that chassis will not fail.
The design includes a trunk which will allow traffic from the MSFC on the other chassis to reach the CSM on the chassis with the failed MSFC. More.
