Muslim man is allowed to marry a Christian woman? where in the quran?

Thank you for bringing this question back to light. Many Muslim, and women, defend the supposed belief that Muslim women cannot marry Christians and Jews simply because it is not mentioned that they cannot. However, it is implied, since Muslim women can marry believing men, and as you have mentioned believing people include: Muslims, Christians and Jews.

In fact, Christians and Jews are known as Ahl-Al-Kitaab, or people of the book. You see, Islam has been warped into what many view a chauvinistic, patriachal cult as opposed to a well-balanced and well-meaning faith. As a Muslim woman, this saddens men, since many third world practices--i.e.

The belief that women are subservient to men, often takes precedence and carries over into even modern times, hence because the Qur'an doesn't explicitly mention the eligibility of Christians and Jews and prospective spouses for Muslim women, many so-called clerics and other "learned men" of Islam have assumed that God meant for only Muslim men to have the option to marry Christians and Jews. Furthermore, many believe in a strictly partriarchal belief that if a Muslim woman marries a non-Muslim her beliefs will be subsumed by the faith of her husband, but this assumes that women are innately docile, ignorant and incapable of making their own judgements or raising their children in a specified manner. Then again, there is the clear contradiction, which says the Christians and Jews are believers, but unfit mates for Muslim women.

How could this logically be? It cannot, but it makes perfect sense if you're a man seeking to codify a system of beliefs and keep people under control. Logically, however, even if women were to submit completely to their husbands (HIGHLY UNLIKELY IN A MODERN SOCIETY) there should be no fear, since Christians and Jews are believers as well...according to Allah the most high, and NOT SOME MAN IN A BEARD AND GOWN IN SAUDI ARABIA!

In my opinion, this is a false assumption, but since there is no scripture of any merit that upholds my belief system, then it really is a trial by trial basis and one can thus say to each their own. With that said, marry the person who is most compatible with you and brings you joy. Very good question btw.

I know my opinion isn't popular, but most things that disagree with the status quo aren't.

Assalamu alaykum Really during the era of Muhammad pbuh because in those days Muslim women were very rare,Muslim man was allowed to marry a Christian woman but the husband should try to make his wife to become a Muslim woman,but a Christian man was not permitted to marry a Muslim woman because she will be forced to become to revert to Christianity by her husband. This temporary permission now is not permitted because there are many Muslim women. Now all non Muslim guys/girls who want to marry Muslim girls/guys they should revert to Islam before marriage as a pre requirement Islam really does honor women and anti slavery.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
