She spits out anything we try to put in her mouth. She only wants formula, nothing else. What to do?

She's a slow starter! Offer Cheerios. They are a 'fun food.' My sister-in-law calls them 'little hugs.

' Other things that are often irresistible would include applesauce, bits of melon, even a taste of cake frosting! That last is a desperation move, granted, but if the idea is to help her to find out that other things taste good, that or a tiny marshmallow might be a start! Other than that, she'll grow up fast enough.

If you are worried about her nutrition, please see your pediatrician.

Cheerios My kids loved cheerios. They melt fast in their mouths. I know this is messy, but my kids like to also eat noodles, peas, as long as we put them on their high chair tray, with out a bowl.

I don't know why, but they all liked the freedom of eating this way at first. Try one thing at a time. Put it on their tray and walk a little bit away, like you aren't really paying attention.

She'll probably explore on her own. :) Sources: older mommy of 3 Leigh052's Recommendations Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care: 8th Edition Amazon List Price: $18.00 Used from: $7.98 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 14 reviews) I raised my kids checking different chapters in the Dr. Spock's book. It's a little old fashioned, but I have some fine adult kids now!.

She doesn't need to eat until she is a year old. Children are really only just tasting food before 1 year. She'll eat when she's ready.

She's not going to fail to thrive if she doesn't start eating by a time table. Relax. She's going to be fine.

Teething Biscuit Get those teething biscuits... (cookie) its been a long time and I forget what they are called but they are hard and the baby can’t easily break off a chunk to choke on it. Gets them used to eating something gradually. That is what we did.

I work with infants every day I have seen this before. What it usually takes is mixing her dry cereal with the formula so she has the taste. Start off with it very watery and gradually make it thicker as time goes on.

Switch from bottles to nonspill sippy cups also. With her bottled food you can also add the formula to it so she has the taste of the formula. Now, the next part is going to sound mean but trust me I have been doing this for years and it works everytime.

Only allow her bottles at certain times (bedtime, naptime, etc. ), if she wants a drink any other time she can use a sippy cup. If everything you put in her mouth keeps coming out put it right back in.Do very small spoonfuls and don't give into the bottle. It sounds like she may not have moved past the sucking action yet and that just takes time and patience.

Just keep putting the finger food out and don't give into the bottle. Gerber makes a great selection Hunger will kick in and she will eat. It will come.

Hope this helps. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
