It sounds like your little girl has some very good fine motor skills going for her. Some children excel in some areas more than others just like we adults excel in our own individual areas and are more average in others :) It is amazing to watch our children learn and grow isn't it? It's crazy how quickly it all happens!
A great way to introduce solids/self feeding is Baby Led Weaning. You let your baby decide when the right time to start taking in solids is, and you let them explore and do it all at their own pace. It sounds like your daughter would do very well with this :) It really helped with my son's motor skills in encouraging him to develop them and fine tune them.
You basically give them large piece of food that they can handle on their own (stick or chip shaped works great) and let them have at it. It is soooo great along with breastfeeding because it is so gradual and it doesn't hurt your nursing at all. Breastmilk (or formula in other cases) is supposed to be the main source of nutrition for the first year and solids are just complimentary :) Food is just fun before one really!
We did this with our son starting when he was six months old and it was awesome. He at first just played with the food, then started to realize it tasted good. He started to put it in his mouth but didn't really swallow yet.
He started biting and chewing it and then it would just fall back out. He eventually started learning how to bring it back and swallow properly. This way they learn the real textures of food, what each individual food tastes and looks like and how to chew, bite and swallow real food properly in the state they will need to be eating it from in the long run.
They have soooo much fun! He will now eat anything and everything, broccoli, carrots, meat, casseroles, chili, curries, rice, pasta, sandwiches and is very proficient at biting, chewing, moving things around in his mouth and swallowing. Little man is now 17 months old and he will try anything at least a few times every time it is offered.
I like that he became accustomed to what he will be eating along with us typically in our home from the start so he has realistic expectations too. I just took salt out of my cooking (although I still used some good healthy seasoning, yum!), cooked veggies a little longer so they were a bit softer (he had no teeth when we started and still didn't for some time after). A good rule of thumb is, if you can mush it against the roof of your mouth with your tongue they can gum it up.
Very worth looking into! I'm linking a few neat sites to check out if you are interested... You can also do a search on youtube for baby led weaning and see some adorable little babies in action! So fun!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
