Your friend who borrowed your dress should pay for it, not anybody else. She shouldn't have left it anywhere and should have looked after it. Also, nobody would give something to charity/goodwill without asking the person who owned the item, so i'm suspicious about the whole story.
I have a feeling that your friend wanted to keep the dress and made up an excuse to not return it to you. Ask her to repay you and never let her borrow anything again, if she asks why then remind her what happened to your dress. I hope you get paid for your dress, good luck.
Your friend needs to pay you or at least replace the dress.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
