If you buy a pedigree, it's mainly the paperwork your paying for, the right to own a dog with so and so as the parents, If a breeder won't give you the paperwork, you can become a bit suspicious about if it indeed a pure breed pup. Then if you were to go ahead and breed later and the dog's come out different, it is YOUR problem. A purebreed without papers is worth just as much as a mix breed.
Any breed which can be registered with the KC should have kennel club registration. This is not a guarantee of a quality puppy but not having legitimate paperwork is a big red flag. Dog lovers means the pup or it's parents are from puppy farms or someone dishonestly bred from either un-papered dogs or dogs with endorsments to not allow breeding.
No paperwork or charging more for KC papers - run, don't walk, away. BTW is is only £13 for a breeder to register a puppy with the Kennel Club. If they don't have papers they have not been bred for any reason but for sale - the definition of a puppy farm.
If you want to breed go through the breed club to find a breeder. Many breeders place endorsements on even show prospect puppies but these can be removed byt the breeder once all relevant health checks are completed.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
