My can only had one seizure after being diagnosed with nasal tumer. Had cybeknife rads. Vet still wants him ... to be on phenobarbatol twice a day (2ml each).
It makes him unsteady and lethargic. GIven the fact that he is responding to the radiation and has not had any other seizures, I don't see why he has to still be on this and/or such a high dose. Its not unusual for them to be very unsteady and sleepy with the first doses --- I usually have clients just give the medication once a day or give 1/2 the dose twice a day for about a week and then go to the full dose so you get less side effects -- you might ask your vet if you could do this --- just remember not to miss any doses once you have started or it might make him more prone to siezures .
Thank you! Very good idea. Right now I'm giving him one dose of the 2 ml.
I'll ask if I can split it up and then eventually taper him off. Melody12 15 days ago .
AHHH - yes - quick fingers. Thanks melody12 15 days ago .
You can get a second opinion, of course, from another vet.
Thanks - already have a phone consult on Wednesday but always good to see if anyone else had similar experiences etc. Melody12 15 days ago .
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
