My cd burner will not burn cds that are above 16x, but it seems they don't really sell cds for less than 16x. what to do?

My cd burner will not burn cds that are above 16x, but it seems they don't really sell cds for less than 16x. What to do I used to be able to burn cds that said 32x or whatever, and now I can't but I don't get why. I also don't want to buy an external burner, because I really don't burn that often.

I had similar I had some similar problems a while back and couln't find anyone who could fix my problem or even tell me why it was...my husband finally contacted the manufaturer of the device and their tech support was very helpful, so if you have the manufacturer information contact them and save yourself some very frustrating steps! Good luck and remember it is only a machine, talking to it does nothing! .

3 Sorry, that's all I got. That's why I put it in the DB instead of the Answers. I had a problem with a cd burner a couple of years back that would burn up to 52x.

If I put in a 52x disc and tried to burn at 52x I would get nothing on the disc when I played it back. Burning at 48x would yield a distorted disc that had a lot of fuzz noise. I actually had to burn the discs at 16x to get the desired result.It was in an old Compaq computer.

While I know you don't want an external burner, that was what I had to get to resolve my issue. It was just cheaper than getting a new internal one. The old burner was toast.

On the plus side I got a dvd burner out of it. I got a memorex external dvd/cd burner. I used it for two years, and I gave it to my brother as a gift when I got my new laptop.

I think I paid $60 for it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
