No, Germany was well and truly beaten. Even if Hitler had lived, it wouldn't have made any difference. His armies - what was left of them - were surrounded and couldn't counter-attack.
The Luftwaffe and the Kriegsmarine had virtually ceased to exist. By April/May,1945, the Nazi Party had very little influence and power. Hitler simply didn't have anything to fight with.
Germany was in ruins (I was there), and the German people had had enough of war. Some Nazis were executed, others were imprisoned; the majority survived and were never brought to trial. Some are still alive.
DesireeJ: I think you and your history teacher should have a little chat.
Well the only reason hitler died was beaches he was about to get captured and he seem what happend to his mentor when he was captured his mentor wife and kids were killed dragged through the streets and hung upside down naked and had rocks thrown at him now the day before hitler died he was married to Ava Braun which was hitlers girlfriend as the Jews were being liberated all through the country hitler and Ava were in a bunker he and her both took cyanide pills and instructed his solders to burn his and her body so that the Americans would not discover it after the war many nazis faced trial and sentenced to death while many of the fled the country and yes some were sent to prison many of the women involved had their hair shaved in front of the entire town they were living in forced to walk miles to the death camp and many villages and things were directed to bury bodies of the dead so do I think that hitler would still be in control no becuase he made one fatal flaw the same as nepolion did when invading Russia they did not know how harsh the winters would be so they did not dress them accordingly 1/3 of both armies parished from pneumonia and horrible disease the Berlin Wall would have still been destroyed at the same time not all the news just came from Germany they were from Russia Poland Switzerland also if you look on the Internet there was a boat of Jews its real famous that came to Ellis island and was turned away by the us government so they turned back and were killed as soon as they got back to Germany becuase no country would take them hope this helped.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
