My dog had a bug in her ear. I tried to get it out but I'm not sure if I did. Any suggestions?

My 90 pound, 4-year-old lab mix with long ears started scratching at her right ear at 2 in the morning. I told her it would stop bugging her if she would stop scratching, but she didn't believe me. I got a flashlight and looked in there, and I saw a bug.

I tried to get it with my finger, but it got away. I happened to have some Epi-otic Advanced from previous ear troubles, and I tried to flush the bug out with that. I pinned her down, put some in, held her down to let it sink in, and then let her up to shake.

She seems better now. The bug was twice the size of a flea, and I thought it might have had wings, but I couldn't be sure. It's not ear mites, and it wasn't a flea.

Hold open the possibility of taking her to a vet, but watch her today and see if she shakes her head, tilts her head to one side, seems a little off-balance, scratches her ear, etc. If any of those things occur, please take her to a vet. If not, you likely killed the bug and it's come out on it's own. Probably just a common little flying but that wanted to be anywhere else but in your dog's ear, but please continue to watch her.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
