You cut the nail too short, which is painful but not an emergency. The bleeding does eventually stop. The fact that you put a bandage on his foot and now it is swollen tells me that you put the bandage on too tight, and damaged the blood supply.

Very much like putting a rubberband around your finger--it swells, is painful (hence the whimpering), and can even kill the tissue and cause it to fall off. The bleeding nail would not have been an emergency if you had just left it alone, but now you do need to go see a vet immediately to see if they can save your dog's foot. Edit: and DO NOT put anything else around that foot.

What happened is that you wrapped his foot too tight and cut off the circulation. That's a huge issue. The minor issue is some nail bleeding -- that's a big nothing.

Get to a vet now for what you did to it afterwards. The nail -- that' will stop bleeding on its own no matter if you darn near cut off the entire toe. The circulation issue -- that needs attention immedately.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
