My editor (Notepad or WordPad, probably) keeps appending .txt to my filenames...so when I tell it to save as program1.java, it saves as program1.java.txt. How do I fix that?

The best way to avoid this (assuming you don't already have a program.java. Txt file you need to rename) is to do this: When you go to File/Save As in WordPad, if you type "program. Java" (with quotes), it will not append the .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
