Well first thing you want to do is give it time to adjust to your house, make the puppy feel welcome. As a puppy it needs to be taken outside after he eats, plays, after his nap etc. You'll have to deal with accidents in the house, don't get mad just be patient. After taking the puppy outside and he goes potty pat him on the head and give him a treat and tell him good boy/girl.
Never hit a dog or get angry when he/she does something wrong. When you see your puppy in the act of doing something wrong say NO in a strict voice. Get him lots of chewing toys, i'm sure you don't want him chewing on furniture etc. Labradors are known to be chewers.
Of course you'll need to find a vet to get the puppy its shots and keep updated, also neutered and spayed at the right age (the vet will let you know). Crate train the dog to prevent accidents for a short period of time when you aren't home. But don't leave the dog in a crate for 5 hours straight.
Puppies have weak bladders and they can't keep it in for long. Well there's a lot more to say but as a pet owner you'll get used to everything and remember owing a pet comes lot's of responsibilities. Enjoy your furry little friend :).
Just make sure your ready to be taking care of a puppy. It's like having a baby. You need plenty of time to be able to spend with your dog.
Make sure you have a nice bed, a leash, food, toys, pee-pee pads, and a crate for your pup! Then get the extra stuff like a collar, and maybe some furniture spray just to keep your pup from marking the couch or even chewing on it! Have some toys to keep your puppy chewing on those instead of your shoes and furniture (teething).
Always give your puppy attention and love so he/she feels comfortable with people. Another thing is for when you go to put him/her in the crate (maybe at night if you want him/her to not sleep with you or just whenever) make sure he/she feels comfortable in the crate. To do so, have a treat sitting near the crate and have your dog go up to it slowly and eat it.
When it comes to eating time, have he/she eat next to the crate with the door open. Eventually, put treats in the crate and have him/her go get them and come out. Then put the treat further and further into the crate, and maybe try closing the door with the dog inside.
(This should take a few days or weeks) So thats just some tips (maybe a lot.. LOL) on a new puppy! Have fun! :).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
