Your brother is on the right track. The only thing I would disagree on is calling these 'rules', when 'guidelines' is actually a lot more constructive. You are being encouraged to be responsible for yourself, and every young person should have that.

These are actually good guidelines, hon. You're lucky. I like that he expects you to do your best in school, this means that he expects you to do as well as YOU can, he's not expecting unrealistic results.

It also means that when you need to, you can ask him for help. And I absolutely agree with him regarding your friends. It means that you will choose your friends wisely, and also, he is perfectly entitled to refuse anyone accept to his home if they do not conduct themselves in a proper manner.

You're being reared by a wise man. He's giving you room to grow, but at the same time he's setting certain boundaries to guide you. You're luckier than some kids with two useless parents.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
