With them already being into their late teens, a drastic change in parenting style probably isn't the best idea, unless there are serious issues that need to be addressed. But seriously...I'm all for parents being friends with children. I've never understood the assertion that you can't be.
You should be the type of parent that your child wants to trust and spend time with. But you do have to put being a parent first sometimes. You do need to be a responsible and adult presence in their life instead of acting like a peer.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
