You might want to check your WLAN light on the front of your laptop Lots of laptops have a switch on the front or side that turns on or off the wireless. If the switch is in the off position, your wireless is off and cannot detect the wireless in the air. To test this: 1) Look for the switch.

If you can't find it, or if you find it and it is on.... 2) Plug an ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the back or side of the computer (looks like a big phone jack.. you can try this at home by unplugging the cable from the back of your wireless router and plugging it right into your laptop) 3) If that gets you a connection, then... either a) if your WLAN light and switch are on on your physical laptop, and yet you cannot get a connection with the wireless but you CAN get one by being plugged in... there is most likely something amiss with your wireless card. You should take it up to Best Buy to be looked at. Or b) if even plugging it into the landline connection does NOT work, you have a problem with the internet connectivity drivers in your computer--same deal, take it to be looked at.

I suspect, though, it is your wireless switch turned off--I do this ALL the time! HTH.

Network troubleshooting That's a catch-all error that you get any time you try to send a request to a website and it cannot be routed because of connectivity problems between you and the server you're trying to contact. It usually means your computer has no connectivity to the Internet, but it can also mean there's a problem with the router, the modem, or your ISP. First, open Start, Settings, Network Connections.

You should see a dialog showing your available network connections. I'll assume you use WiFi everywhere, so the first thing to look for is whether your Wireless Network connection is active. If it looks as shown here, there is no network connection active. In my case, it's because there is no access point within range of the computer I snapped this screenshot from.

However, it can be because your WiFi card is not working. If you look to the pane on the left, you'll see the Network Troubleshooter. That will guide you step-by-step through the process of finding out what's wrong.

However, your first step in this process is to right-click on the connection that isn't working, and select the Repair option. If that does not bring it up, use the troubleshooter. If everything seems OK with your computer, open a CMD prompt and type the following: ping 192.168.1.1 That's the base address of the router in most home networks.

If you get responses from it, your connectivity to it is working, and the problem lies upstream of it. You can try rebooting your modem, if you have cable or DSL, and see if that helps. Sources: Shown .

If you have changed some configuration in your laptop you could use the "System restore" tool:kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_restore.htmhttp:... I have to say that sometimes Internet Explorer and Firefox have problem with slow or bad connections, in those cases Opera is your friend:www.opera. ComGood luck :) Sources: My Opinion .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
