My mum needs help? Is mental health issues hereditary?

My sister is 25 and is severely depressed. She talks about ending her life and has attempted to do so a few years back. She is past the stage of self help and as her sister I feel that there is no longer anything I can say or do to change things around, I can only support her and its not enough.

I feel she need's professional help. I don't just want a trip to the doctors with her. Anti depressant medication will not be enough.

She needs to change her whole outlook on life and realise how to be strong and make life decisions that will make her happy. How do we go about getting her therapy or counselling etc? I feel group counselling may be a good help alongside one on one counselling. I am researching the internet right now and I am going to speak to my doctor to see what he suggests but if any one has any experience of this or what to do, or anything at all that may help please tell me.

I'm so, so worried and desperate to help her. Thank you.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
