My pain meds were stolen (2 pills) and sheriff's deputy won't let me file a report?

I am sorry that you are going through such a mess with your friend and her husband. Unfortunately, in this situation, there is not a lot that you can do. Yes, you have the right to file a report any time that you would like, and the officer should take your report.

However, in this situation, it is probably just better to let it go. Since there was another report filed by the officer for the call made, and the officer said that he would note the incident concerning the pills in that file, then it may already be on record, but there are other issues that should be taken into consideration. First of all, filing an additional report for two stolen pills is probably just a waste of your time and the waste of the officer's time as well.

There is probably no way that you can get those pills back because someone has more than likely already taken them. If you are out of your medication and needing more, you should probably just call your doctor's office. Also, technically, if you left the pills at your friend's house by mistake, then they were not really "stolen," but instead "misplaced" as the officer mentioned.

Yes, your friends should not have taken the pills simply because you left them behind, but that does not really make it stealing, at least in the eyes of the law. Second, if the pills were in a 'baggy' instead of a labeled pill bottle, it would be hard to prove that the pills were actually yours. If you frequently carry your medication this way, I would highly discourage you from doing this.

The reason for this is, if you are ever stopped under the suspicion of being under the influence, the officers will search your possessions. If pills are found that are not in a labeled prescription bottle with YOUR name on it, then you can get into a whole heap of trouble in some areas. The laws are not the same on this in every part of the country r the world, but in general, you will have to prove that you have a prescription for that controlled substance.

If it were me in your shoes, I would just let it go. However, I would be much more careful with my medication in the future and also around these particular friends. I hope things get better for you and your friend.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
