My parents won't let me date and im 15 years old, and 16 in 8 months....?

First off, let me congratulate you on your choice! Going vegan can be a tough choice for many reasons. My sister is your age and she is going through the exact same situation as you are.

It can be hard, but I would suggest you stick with it if it is very important to you. There are many health reasons for going vegan. If you have Netflix, you should have a family movie night and watch Vegucated and Forks over Knives.

I'm sure your parents would be stunned at the information they find there. Both movies are highly informative and I would very strongly suggest you watch them as well. I would also suggest you all watch Earthlings, if you can stomach it.

It is VERY graphic, but it's graphic nature shows the reality of what most animals on this planet face because of our choice to eat meat. You can find Earthlings streaming for free on their official website( I'm including the link below under Sources). Another extra-curricular one to check out would be Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

That one isn't so much about going vegan, but it does show what a plant-based diet can do for you through juicing. Your best bet in your current situation is to let them know you are serious by arming yourself with lots of information. There are tons of vegan groups on Facebook that give a lot of useful information.

I would suggest going there and telling the kind folks your situation and that you want some useful info. They will be more than willing to bend over backwards to provide you with much educational material. Also, there are various support groups out there for people in your situation ( Again, I've included a link below).

You may also want to consider buying your own food like one of the people below suggested. It would be another great way to show your parents that you are taking this seriously. I wish you the best of luck on your transition and your new vegan lifestyle.

It can actually be pretty fun once you get over that initial hump in the beginning. You will always meet people who are judgmental about it, but there are also a lot of friendly, open-minded and helpful people out there!

As long as a person does veganism *right,* they don't get sick and/or become anorexic. A change in diet takes time for your body to get used to, though, and your parents may be unsupportive, in part, because they think you're going about this way too fast. Ease your parents and body into it by cutting out your animal intake bit by bit and then your animal products bit by bit.

You'll get sick if you just wake up tomorrow and decide to eat vegan, anyway. Plus, you're more apt to miss non-vegan foods and prove your parents right by being forced to quit. It may also be helpful to get a job and pay for your own groceries (even though a vegan diet is the cheapest diet ever, you may want some vegan pizza or soy yogurt sometime, which can get pretty costly).

Good luck!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
