It could be a variety of different causes, some good resources for answers below. Many conditions may cause these symptoms including spider mites, diseases and nutrient deficiencies. Examine the underside of the leaves for small red to greenish mites.
If mites are found, treat with Kelthane, malathion or sulfur dust. 2 I always thought that with houseplants yellow leaves meant too much water but I am not sure about tomato plants. I don't have a green thumb although I have great admiration for those that do. Mr. BS tells any new houseplants that come my way to run for their lives!
