MySQL - Two table query, with SUM?

The reason your second query is returning only 1 row, is because oyu don't have a GROUP BY. Unlike many SQL databases, MySQL does allow you to mix non-aggregated fields with aggregated ones, even though its technically not valid sql, and the results are unpredictable.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
