Need a good audio capturing software to record from a sound system input?

Need a good audio capturing software to record from a sound system input My church is looking to run the output from a full sound system into a computer to record our services. What is the best program for capturing the incoming signal? We are presently using Audacity but are having problems and it is a little tiresome trying to convert the recording to an mp3.

Any suggestions? Asked by 2001Spur 40 months ago Similar questions: audio capturing software record sound system input Computers > Hardware > Desktops & Laptops.

Analog to Analog It really depends on your computer hardware. Audacity isn't bad for ripping a mixdown to mp3. It's what I use though the LAME is a bit lossy and can make things worse when you have an analog signal into a mic input on a sound card.It really depends on yoru sound card for quality sound if you're going analog.

If your sound card isn't sheilded you can get some funky interference and the connectors need to be perect - speaker/monitor location can have negative impacts as well. I a home studio and go straight from a lexicon usb mixer. It came with a barebones version Cubase called Cubase LE. It connects via a digital signal and works quite well.

I recommend trying Cubase LE and then deciding if you want to get the whole shebang or not. The mixer is a good choice because is portable and will enable you to not have to be at yoru big mixing board to practice and the program is fairly "light" which means its memory footprint isn't completely silly. I will grant you that this is a fairly lowfi way to do it and you will have to eventually get the mp3 encoder (the first 20 are free) but the software is easy enough to use (at least for my purposes - recording directly from a Yamaha Motif workstation.

My rough cuts from audacity vs cubase are much different in sound quality... I tinker with it in my spare time.. I have had some problems with record volume matching my monitor - but that's more the mixer than anything.. here's a roughcut that hasn't been fully mixed yet - but is an example of sound range and quality. boomp3.com/listen/1777p121c_1/diaspora-l... It converts your analog signal to digital and comes with the free cubase LE software (though you'll have to purchase the mp3 upgrade) .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
