Need VOX circuit to complete my car's automated audio multiplexer?
I am making a simpler device for a similar purpose. My sat nav has stereo headphone socket and the voice instructions are on both channels. One channel will be fed to an external speaker the other will be used to vox switch the head unit phone mute.
I have based on this circuit: edutek.ltd.uk/Circuit_Pages/Sound_Op_Swi... and just had the output transistor ground the mute wire, but you could switch the feeds with relays or chips presumably. Change the 555 timing components to give a slight delay after the end of the message.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
