Firewall says it is allowing the updates to pass, so it does not appear to be a firewall issue, and it definitely started after the ie8 upgrade, which, by the way, came as a download through automatic update. IE 8... ...has it's own weird engine and translator. Did you try looking at the page in "compatibility mode"? I am sorry to say it might be an issue with whatever framework you have as well.

I m running XPSP3 and IE8 (Well, firefox, but I have IE8 installed just in case...) and I am having no issues. I would make sure that all of your updates are good to go by going to: update.microsoft. Com/microsoftupdate .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
