Georgia agencies/businesses, and out-of-state agencies/companies who have Georgia applicants, that wish to conduct background checks for employment, licensing or any other non-criminal justice purposes, excluding immigration/visa/travel, may use the on-line Georgia Applicant Processing Service (GAPS)(www.ga.cogentid.com). Agencies/businesses who wish to conduct background checks for employment or licensing must obtain a unique agency number (OAC) assigned by GCIC.
