On a trip to hong kong for 5 days, how much cash should I carry?

Hong kong dollars I meant. A family of 3 needs how much cash in Hong Kong for 4-5 days. Hotels/flight etc. All taken care of.

Id avoid carry too much cash at any time... ...especially when traveling. Do you and your family a favor and get Traveler's Checks and cash in only what you need for each day. That will prevent you from getting mugged or robbed by a maid while your room is being cleaned... Street vendors do not take CC, but most small businesses do.As far as food is concerned, if you are eating at local spots and not in big restaurants that cater to Westerners, then $40 USD should be more than enough to feed the family daily (not sure what the exchange rate is anymore...) Local transporatation is cheap as well, but again, depends upon how much youre using it and how far youre going... Shopping - well, that depends upon what youre buying - they have fake Rolex watches for less than $20 USD, as well as pirated DVDs and CDs - but most won't work on American electronics... Lots of cheap clothing items too, but then they also have a huge promenade of expensive stores such as Cartier, Chanel and other boutiques.
