Because apparently, mixed economies that are not purely capitalists are socialists. It's just hysteria thats been whipped up in order to cause fear and slander governmental systems. I don't agree with the economic systems of the uk, but that doesn't mean they are socialists.
Most of the people calling them socialists don't even understand the concept of socialism. They're just parrots echoing what they've heard. The funny thing is that they say the same thing about the "socialists" they criticize.
Talk about a double standard.
It suits the super-rich if workers think there is no alternative to a system of exploitation and privilege. So there is constant propaganda to the effect that Socialism means high taxes and a welfare state. In fact Socialism means abolition of the wages system and a classless stateless society.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
