I know it's late and you have your Kindle already since I got mine on the 13th as did everyone else unless they got it faster...but the reason your card was charged was because it WAS shipped...it just took Amazon a long time to get the emails updated and tracking numbers posted. There was a very large demand for Kindle 3's and they had a lot to keep up with. I wrote and asked them and this is the jist of what was said to me in the conversation.

And also the last weekend of summer. It's possible they closed down the warehouse for the weekend. Or it's possible UPS wasn't doing any pickups until Tuesday.

I know everybody expects an Internet company to be working 24/7, and it's possible they still have people in the warehouse working on stuff, but it was a major holiday weekend, and other than Hurricane Earl on the East Coast, the weather has been pretty spectacular! Check in tomorrow.

You would be suprised to know that I don't expect anyone to work 24/7 and I guess I am old fashioned: if you tell me my credit card will not be chareged until an order ships, then I don't expect to be told, after my credit card has been charged, that the item is being "prepared for shipment. " I don't care what you think might be possible, but thank you for your time to try and help me.

Well, you have a point. I just checked my own order which was ordered on the same day as yours and mine is saying it hasn't shipped yet, but expected delivery day is the 10-13th. I don't know if my credit card has been charged yet.

I'm guessing they put your Kindle in a box, ran the credit card and missed the Friday or Saturday pick up, and that yours will probably go out today.

Thanks DanZee, I do not even have an expected delivery date! I can understand they are probably overwhelmed by the number of orders that they are processing, but... hopefully you are right and they will get out this week. Again, thanks.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
