Osama Bin laden dead or alive?

I agree with you, the government has lied in the past tons of times. Also, I think it may not just be a lie from our government to calm us down, but also to maybe re-elect President Obama. This is a total scam though, because the credit to Bin Ladens death went 100% to President Obama, when it should have went to President Bush.

This is because it was his plan in the first place mostly. Back to the "Death". See, the americans killed Osama Bin Laden, and decided to follow muslim tradition with Bin Ladens body.

I think it was stupid to burry his body at sea, without first bringing him to the U.S. for some sort of public veiwing. The only reason I think that may have been too hard is that in Muslim tradition the body must be burried within 24 hours. That leads me to the question, "Why did'nt we burry the body somewhere in the U.S. NOT in the sea"?

To prevent shrines of his followers by it? Atleast we would know he was dead. Anyway I have thought about this as a possibility ever since I heard about the burriel at sea, especially since the government has lied so much in the past.

I think he IS dead! Why would they lie, knowing that it will piss Al Qaeda off, hugely, creating a huge risk of a terror attack. There would be no point in them lying really.

You say, to calm the people so they weren't scared. Scared of what exactly? It wasn't like there was some huge thing going on at the moment like some story in the news the week before like 'Osama plans to blow up world with 5 nuclear bombs' or anything.

The people have had nothing to be scared of for years, because they hadn't heard anything from him in years and about half of people had already assumed he was dead. No one was scared enough as you make out, to warrant this kind of giant lie. They're also thinking through whether to release the footage or photos.

Because think about it, those people singing outside the whitehouse have already glorified his death enough, which will have pissed off al qaeda. Can you imagine if they release pictures how much more glorifying it will look, and you just know some bloody idiots will decide to burn the pictures on the streets or like use it as a dartboard or something dumb, which will annoy al qaeda even more. Obv because of the whole thing.

Al qaeda will plan something, but the plan may get bigger depending on how much we annoy them in the next few weeks/months. To be honest, Osama was a terrible man who deserved to die for all the pain he caused, and while his death may bring joy to people and bring comfort and closure to family of 9/11, 7/7 and any other attacks by him, his killing may just end up causing more trouble that it was worth. There would have been no point in lying.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
