It's not a daily commute that's for sure. You can drive (417 to A40 into Montreal, where you go from there depends on where in Montreal). Or you can take Via for pretty cheap from the train station at Fallowfield or the main station on Tremblay right into downtown Montreal and a short walk from the Metro.

Where to stay depends on what you want to do in Montreal and how much you're willing to spend.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
